Circa Waves have announced that their new album ‘Sad Happy’ will be released in 2020.

The new project is a double album, with the first part ‘Sad’ releasing on 10th January. ‘Happy’ will then follow on 13th March.

As the title and cover art suggests, the album will focuses on the emotional extremities of modern society.

Alongside the reveal of the new album, the band have announced that their UK tour will kick off at the end of March.

The band have also released the first single ‘Jacqueline’, an upbeat but melancholic offering which combines their melodic earlier singles with the band’s more refined later work.

The live dates in March and April will see the band perform across the country, including a tour opener in Glasgow and a hometown gig in Liverpool.

The band are set for a busy start to 2020, as they are supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their European tour in January.

The new album comes just under a year after their last studio album ‘What’s It Like Over There?’, which many saw as an artistic departure from their previous work.

We’ll have to wait and see where the band takes us on ‘Sad Happy’.

Pre-sale for the tour begins on Wednesday 27th November.
