Single Review: Fauves - Spaced Out Face
Glasweigian outfit Fauves are back with their latest single ‘Spaced Out Face’, an anthem that fits perfectly with the origins of their name. The group get their name from Fauvism, an early 20th century French art movement famous for its use of vibrant colours and shapes, something which the band utilise in both their sound and their artwork.
Fauves were formed in 2017 when lead vocalist Ryan Caldwell began recording demos with drummer Ciaran Devlin, and the band has gone from strength to strength by adding Jonny Glass, Rory Bradley and Gianluca Bernacchi to the line-up..
Their latest effort is as unique and captivating as the artistic tradition they’re named after, with an infectious backing track going perfectly with Caldwell’s silky smooth vocals to create a song that will live rent free in your head for some time to come. We’re all excited to hear what comes next from the group, and if ‘Spaced Out Face’ is anything to go by, then it’s time to jump aboard the Favues hype train.
