Single Review: Fumez - Thousand

After dropping his five track collection John back in February, Fumez is back with his latest single, ‘Thousand’.

The Manchester rapper lays his emotions bare on this newest track, as he tackles topics such as alcohol abuse and poverty that allow listeners a glimpse into his thoughts. The name of the track has a story behind it, as Fumez lets us know in the track that he’d rather have his current smaller audience (the Thousand) that truly care about him as an artist, instead of potentially blowing up and finding an audience that don’t truly relate to his artistry.

With ‘Thousand’, we get to see who the real Fumez is: a working-class lad from Manchester who truly loves his city and the scene he’s proud to represent. His hard-hitting lyrics are ever-present across a sombre beat - with his powerful performance being a testament to his ability on the mic.

The new single again proves how too many people are sleeping on Fumez - if you don’t know already, you should get to know.
