Single Review: GEORGI - Carpool

GEORGI has released a second shoulder-swaying tune after the release of her debut single ‘Speak My Mind’ at the beginning of the year. With a great set of drops, an intriguing voice and electronic undertones, the Stoke on Trent artist has outdone herself with ‘Carpool’.

When Only A Northern One interviewed GEORGI a short time ago, she told our team how “…I want to manifest and transform the painful bits of life into these sonic celebrations. That was definitely the case with this track, it’s a love letter to the little things and the small moments that make life worth living.” You can’t deny that this message seeps through every inch of lyricism within this track.

‘Carpool’ accounts for the pain and darkness that has come from the lockdown, and takes you to a time when we were free; highlighting how these late-night adventures with friends now have a new importance. For anyone listening, it rekindles memories of driving around your hometown, going nowhere but feeling so alive. The surge of serotonin that occurs from each and every beat switch is really incredible, with her hypnotic vocals helping the track transcend to a new level.

This track is the ideal for those of us that need a nostalgic hit of the times before the pandemic, and more importantly: the good times still to come.
