Single Review: glue70 - Days Go On

‘Days Go On’ begins with a hypnotic, metronomic beat, followed by colourful bursts of electronica, then a subtle bassline paired with soothing vocals. The track’s gentle loop takes the listener on an introspective journey through time, aided by subtly blended harmonies and lo-fi beats.

The single has a definite summery mood, yet is highly versatile – it could easily be the soundtrack to a relaxing evening in, drinks in the park with friends, or the end of a heavy night. Its lyrics are simple yet resonant, taking on new meaning with each listen.

Hailing from Manchester, glue70’s unique take on house (which he dubs ‘gluestep’) has seen him rack up over 15 million streams on Spotify to date. He shows no signs of slowing down, with his forthcoming album 2070 due for release with Majestic Casual Records next month.

glue70’s sound manages to be nostalgic and futuristic all at once. As ‘Days Go On’ progresses, the introductory metronome beat returns, layered with the track’s pulsating recurring melody. The track deceptively fades out before returning for its final few beats – its evocative ending combines a high note with a rushing sound, leaving the listener on a high.
