Single Review: Fliss - Ghostin

FLISS and The Mouse Outfit bring a mesmerizing energy with new single ‘Ghostin’ - which encapsulates the struggle of being left on read. The track maintains a chilled-out disposition whilst capturing the frustration that comes with adapting to romance in 2020.

FLISS’s voice is smooth and soulful, giving the track a unique flavour with elements of RnB, Jazz and Pop. The way that the vocals are carefully layered gives the track an airiness that makes each part of the song flow easily into the next, and the result is a track that is deeply catchy and memorable.

The track really resonates through FLISS’s writing, communicating feelings that are especially relatable as we all try to navigate intimacy from a safe distance. The words “You made me feel something. You made me feel something, and then you ghosted,” leaves an unpleasant taste in your mouth as you recall an interaction you had in the past. The lyrics recite all of the thoughts that spin around your mind when you wonder why they haven’t texted or called yet, however, the track is altogether playful and light-hearted.

Ghostin is beautifully written and totally hypnotising with its mellow keys, dreamy strings, and stunning vocals. This track is laid-back, profound and truly relevant.
