Single Review: Morning Crush - Tightrope Dance
‘Tightrope Dance’ is the third single of the year from Morning Crush AKA Tim Ostrowsky-Thomas.
From busking on highstreets and performing at open mics at the age of 14 to receiving airplay on BBC Radio 6 and sharing stages with Billy Ocean, Tim has secured a dedicated fanbase over the years.
On top of his talent, Tim uses his position to advocate and raise money for charities by taking part in 24 hour busking marathons for Syria relief and the mental health charity CALM.
Morning Crush’s latest studio effort ‘Tightrope Dance’ continues his journey with a new release that is as unique as it is modest. ‘Tightrope Dance’ blends modern indie music production style with 1960s inspired folk style influences.
The music video features artist Kimberly Randall painting an abstract piece which is up for sale on her website. Speaking about the track’s core themes, Morning Crush stated: “The song was born out of the idea of a relationship ending at just the right time, without any baggage or drama”.
After nearly giving up on the song, Morning crush decided to collaborate with Frank Turner, an English punk and folk singer, for the release. Turner helped transform the track into its finished form and even provided vocals in its call-and-response chorus.
