Manchester band The Covasettes - comprised of frontman Chris Buxton, lead guitarist Matt Hewlett, bassist Jamie McIntyre and drummer Matt Buckley - have released a real gem with ‘Be Mine’. Since releasing their first single ‘This Feeling’ back in 2017, the band have built up quite a catalogue of indie-pop smashes, accumulating an impressive one million Spotify streams and becoming a fixture on the live circuit - well, until live music was put on hold thanks to you know what.

‘Be Mine’ has a classic indie rock feel to it with its vibrant guitar refrains and a lively rhythm. The new track juxtaposes a rumbling bass with a soaring melody that is simultaneously uplifting, dark and psychedelic. With no surprise, the band said: “Every time we play ‘Be Mine’ at gigs, it gets such a lively reaction and creates a real buzz in the room, so when it came to deciding our next single, it was the clear favourite.” In addition to the vibrant rhythm, the lyrics are catchy, dynamic and channel a contagious positive energy that makes you want to get on your feet.

The Covasettes have become one of THE indie bands to watch, with the driving melodies and cool vocals of ‘Be Mine’ being the instant mood booster we all need in our summer playlist.
