After two singles and a slew of sold out shows across their native Liverpool, The Sway are back with their infectious indie new single, ‘Don’t You Wanna Be (Happy)’.

The Merseyside quintet rose to prominence in 2019, where their modern Merseybeat sound led them them perform at a number of the city’s most recognisable venues, including the Sound Basement and Hangar 34.

Although their musical careers are in their relatively early stages, the group have already shown their versatility, as lead vocals on their debut single ‘Step Right’ were handled by Ryan McNee, whereas fellow vocalist Ciaran Smith took the lead on their follow up track ‘Changing’.

With their latest tune, The Sway provide listeners with an upbeat indie anthem that evokes memories of better times, when the sun was shining, and socialising was still a totally legal act. The track succeeds massively in just being a wonderfully positive message in such a trying time for us all, and it’s catchy chorus is sure to bring a smile to your face no matter your mood.

If you’re a fan of indie,  you need to be following The Sway. For a collective at the beginning of their journey, their raw potential is clear for all to see, and we’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on how they develop.
