Single Review: Strange Bones - Menace

It is impossible to pigeon hole Strange Bones into a musical style. They have an eclectic range of tracks that span from the average to the original and exciting. As with some of their earlier tracks, their new song Menace slightly misses the mark.

It initially presents as a classic hard rock sound but unexpectedly mellows and then swiftly picks up the pace again. The transitions are rocky and make the overall track sound confused rather than powerful. There is a sound overload meaning that it is very difficult to hear the lyrics other than the occasional profanity, again taking away from the intended impact of the song.

It is clearly conveys a strong anger but it is not clear what the anger is aimed towards or if what the solution is. The band allowed their emotions to overwhelm them rather than controlling them and shaping them into a more impactful track.
