Single Review: King No One - Get You Right
Fresh off of their infectious 2019 EP OOMM and new track ‘Roll of the Dice’, indie pop sensations King No-One have blessed us with their third song of the year, ‘Get You Right’.
The group got their start playing in small venues up and down the country, and after being incredibly well received in the indie mecca of Manchester, they moved from York and have been a mainstay in the city’s music scene ever since.
Their latest effort continues the recent hot streak they’ve been on, as the group stray away from their usual guitar heavy indie-pop in favour of a synth-heavy tribute to the 80s (but don’t worry, there are still riffs aplenty), and the backing track is the perfect vessel for frontman Zach Lount to flaunt his ability to provide an effortlessly catchy hook.
‘Get You Right’s main message is simple yet inspiring in these unusual times: it provides the listener with a sense of hope that no matter how bad things may seem, they will get better in the end. Be sure to check the track out on all streaming services, as it’s the perfect song to end this very different summer on a high note.
