Single Review: Pacific - Alibi
Manchester based indie-rock band Pacific are a group of brothers aiming to give a much needed injection of indie music back into the mainstream.
Their new single ‘Alibi’ blends alternative rock and indie elements, driven by dynamic piano. The lyrics confront what it means to make sacrifices to protect the person you care about.
Upon first listening to the song, the intro to the song was instantly familiar. The band takes inspiration from artists like Muse, Nothing but Thieves and piano influences from artists like Tom Odell.
Even so the band manages to retain their unique, bold sound throughout the song and the chorus is definitely one that will stay with you. Both BBC Radio 1 and Apple Music have high praise for the band. Apple Music have stated that “this band are about to make a huge impact”, after adding them to their ‘Breaking Rock’ editorial playlist.
Pacific are showing no signs of slowing down, ‘Alibi’ is only one of six upcoming singles the band has scheduled for 2021. They are also planning their largest ever concert in Manchester later in the year. Fingers crossed the pandemic allows it and we can hear ‘Alibi’ live in concert soon.
